 Minced Chicken with Cabbage (Asian Stir-Fry)


Ingredients:


400g ground chicken


½ white or green cabbage (approx. 400g), finely chopped


1 grated carrot (optional)


2 garlic cloves, minced


1 small piece of fresh ginger (1 tsp grated)


2 tbsp soy sauce


1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)


1 tbsp sesame oil (or neutral oil)


1 tsp honey or sugar


Salt and pepper


Green onions or sesame seeds for garnish (optional)


Preparation:

1. Sear the chicken


In a large skillet or wok, heat the oil.


Add the ground chicken and cook over medium-high heat until golden brown. Break it up with a spatula.


2. Add the herbs


Add the garlic and ginger and sauté for 1 minute.


3. Stir in the vegetables


Add the shredded cabbage (and carrot, if using). Stir-fry for 5 to 10 minutes, until the cabbage is tender but still crisp.


4. Season


Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and honey.


Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes for the flavors to blend.


Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper.


Serving suggestions:


Serve with rice, noodles, or as a light meal.


Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
