 Creamy Pasta and Smoked Sausage Skillet

Ingredients:
300g pasta (penne, fusilli, farfalle, etc.)
250g smoked sausage (Montbéliard or knack), sliced
1 onion, sliced
2 garlic cloves, chopped
200ml heavy cream (or single cream)
100g grated cheese (Parmesan, Emmental, or Cheddar)
1 teaspoon mustard (optional, for flavor)
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper
Chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Preparation:
1. Cook the pasta:
Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted water according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside. 2. Brown the sausages:
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil. Add the sausage slices and brown them for 4 to 5 minutes.
3. Add the herbs:
Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Then add the garlic and continue cooking for 1 minute.
4. Prepare the sauce:
Pour the cream into the skillet, add the grated cheese and mustard. Mix until smooth. Season to taste.
5. Toss the pasta:
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet. Mix well to coat with the creamy sauce. Heat for 2 more minutes.
6. Serve hot:
Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately. Serve with a green salad, if desired.
Tips:
You can add vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or peas for more color and flavor.
For a lighter version, use low-fat cream and chicken sausages.
